These powerful magical allies have been revered for millennia. Believed to possess a soul, lodestones are often treated like familiar spirits. They must be fed and cared for regularly to maintain their energy and ability to assist in magic. Lodestones are effective in sympathetic magic for drawing just about anything to you: love, money, luck, etc. Their natural magnetic quality lends itself to the metaphysical as a “magnet” for success in your endeavour. Lodestones can also repel and may be used to clear negative energy or ward against it. Lodestones can be used to empower lucky or drawing oils by infusing the stones within your mixture. These truly are wonderful witches’ allies.

To feed your lodestone, choose a day of the week that you will let it “rest”. On its resting day, wash the lodestone in clean water (you may wish to add salt or cleansing herbs) and dry it thoroughly. Then feed it by sprinkling iron filings onto it (this can be messy, so you might wish to keep your lodestone in a bowl). Allow the lodestone to re-energize overnight before setting it to work once more.
